| additional remarks | Intercultural encounters have become commonplace in our globalized world and are no longer limited to holidays or semesters abroad. This offers many opportunities and possibilities to broaden one’s own horizon, but it can also lead to difficult or misunderstood situations. Everyone brings values, norms, attitudes and behaviors from their own culture. Intercultural sensitivity is necessary to prevent these from becoming the cause of conflicts. The workshop “Cross Cultural Communication” is an intercultural basic workshop – it does not deal with cultures of selected countries, but considers culture as a whole and prepares encounters. The basis for this are theoretical findings of cultural research, which give you the possibility to compare your own intercultural experiences. Among other things, this happens through a simulation, through which you can experience how important acceptance, empathy and ambiguity tolerance are for the interaction between different cultures. |
