additional remarks High performance in-memory appliances might have a huge impact on enterprises information systems. Today most companies use ERP systems for transactional data and data warehouse systems for reporting. Data is copied from the ERP to the data warehouse system in periodic batch jobs. Learn in this class how in-memory technologies realize high performance data processing using efficient technologies such as row and column storage, partitioning, compression, multithreading and special indexing. In addition you will conduct practical exercises with SAP HANA. In a first step you will load data into the database and analyse it with Business Object tools. Furthermore, you will get in touch with SAP Predictive Analysis, the data mining tool based on HANA. Again some practical exercises will help you to understand the theoretical basis. After the lecture part with exercises, you will first work on a small homework alone, than work on a practical task in groups for a couple of weeks. As this new technology is quite interesting for several companies and as there are only a few experts right now, having taken part in this course successfully might help you with your job applications later on.
