| additional remarks | Demokratie hängt immer mit dem Verlangen nach Freiheit zusammen. Wer mit dem Hinweis auf „alte weiße Männer“ die Kultur der Demokratien verbessern will, muss auch deren Ursprünge in den Menschenrechten kennen. Russland hat mit seinem Angriffskrieg auf die Ukraine die Charta der Vereinten Nationen, die einen Angriffskrieg verbietet und die Selbstbestimmung der Völker garantiert, schwerwiegend verletzt. Die Konsequenz der Leugnung des Selbstbestimmungsrechts ist auch die Leugnung der Menschenrechte, die universell gelten. Das jedem Menschen zustehende Recht der Selbsterhaltung führt zur Rechtssicherung durch Zusammenschlüsse in Gruppen und Staaten. Menschenwürde bedeutet, dass jedem ein Recht zu Selbsterhaltung zusteht. Das Selbstbestimmungsrecht der Staaten und ihre Souveränität sind die völkerrechtlichen Konsequenzen. Nach der Barbarei und dem Rassenwahn des deutschen Nationalsozialismus war es nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg unter der Zustimmung Russlands gelungen, mit der Charta der Vereinten Nationen, mit der Allgemeinen Erklärung der Menschenrechte (1948) und dem deutschen Grundgesetz (1949) rechtliche Grundlagen der Humanität zu schaffen. Diese Grundlagen und damit alle demokratischen Freiheiten sind nun in Gefahr. |
