The lecture covers the use of neutrons in different medical fields. Two key aspects are thereby discussed in greater detail: the use of research reactors for the production of medical radioisotopes for diagnostics and therapy such as Tc-99m and Lu-177 on one hand and the direct use of neutrons of different energies for therapy such as FNT and BNCT on the other hand.
In addition to the lecture, guided tours through the FRM II reactor will beoffered. Given the current constraints, they will be scheduled during the summer term. |
