Further Information

Courses are together with exams the building blocks for modules. Please keep in mind that information on the contents, learning outcomes and, especially examination conditions are given on the module level only – see section "Assignment to Modules" above.

additional remarks This practical course is the basic component of the module "Advanced Laboratory Methods" in Physical Chemistry. It begins with introductory, basic parts on the topics "Processing data", "Assessing measurement errors" and "Measuring diffraction", which you will be working on in the first few weeks. This is followed by laboratory work at different experimental stations where you carry out successively four experiments that you can select from a pool of twelve experiments according to your interests and the availability. The experiments concern the topics Photoelectric Effect, Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Circular Dichroism (CD) Spectroscopy, UV/VIS Spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) Spectroscopy, Raman scattering, Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) spectroscopy, Photocatalysis.
