Further Information
Courses are together with exams the building blocks for modules. Please keep in mind that information on the contents, learning outcomes and, especially examination conditions are given on the module level only – see section "Assignment to Modules" above.
additional remarks | This practical course is the basic component of the module Advanced Working Methods in Physical Chemistry. It begins with introductory, basic parts on the topics Processing data, Assessing measurement errors and Measuring diffraction, same for all, which you will work on in the first weeks. This is followed by laboratory work at different experimental stations where you carry out successively four experiments from a pool of twelve experiments, introducing you to various aspects of spectroscopic applications. The experiments cover the topics Photoelectric Effect, Fluorescence Spectroscopy, Circular Dichroism (CD) Spectroscopy, UV-VIS Spectroscopy, Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) sSpectroscopy, Raman Scattering, Electron Spin Resonance (ESR) Spectroscopy, Photocatalysis. |
