additional remarks In this practical course, you will be part of a team to develop a (autonomous) platooning functionality for small cars. Platooning is an autonomous driving function which enables cars or trucks to drive behind on another in a very small distance such that fuel can be saved. Ensuring safety in such a scenario and the management of the platoon are crucial tasks. In this practical course, you will develop this functionality by extending an existing adaptive cruise control implementation and by developing a partly existing lane keeping assistance. Additionally, communication between cars has to be implemented and established, too. You will work in teams to come up with solutions for specific scenarios which will then be integrated into the vehicle using a model based development approach. The teams will manage themselves and need to coordinate with each other to be able to integrate the developed functions in an agile manner. Main parts of the course will take place at fortiss GmbH, close to Nordfriedhof.
