Assignment to Modules
-
PH1325: Physik der weichen Materie / Soft Matter Physics
This module is included in the following catalogs:- Catalogue of student seminars for condensed matter physics
- Catalogue of student seminars for Applied and Engineering Physics
Further Information
Courses are together with exams the building blocks for modules. Please keep in mind that information on the contents, learning outcomes and, especially examination conditions are given on the module level only – see section "Assignment to Modules" above.
additional remarks | The term "soft matter" is used for a variety of materials, such as polymers, liquid crystals, biopolymers, colloids etc. In the seminar, the physical fundamentals of selected materials shall be presented in talks given by the students and shall be discussed. Topics for the talks may be: - Introduction to polymers - self-cleaning surfaces - switchable polymer brushes - block copolymers as templates for nanotechnology - polymer-metal composites - conducting polymers - polymeric nanostructures for photovoltaics - polymeric adhesives - biopolymeric nanostructes - nanocomposites from polymers and carbon nanotubes - switchable polymers The student carries out a literature research and discusses the talk with the advisor. In the seminar, the student gives a talks of 45 min duration. The content of the talk is discussed, and the student should be able to answer questions by the other participants. |
