additional remarks | In teams of 3-4 people, the participants develop an initial business idea and undergo a semester-long development process where they: 1. focus on finding out about the real customer needs associated with this business idea, 2. develop a prototype of their product or service offering, 3. do market research and competition analysis to yield a positioning statement representing their business, 4. work out the general financial aspects (e.g., profit loss statement), 5. deliver a final pitch presentation (including a teaser video, and use of their prototypes) and a business plan. In their business plan, participants formulate in a concise and structured way how they developed an understanding about the actual customers and markets for their business idea by focusing on writing five main chapters of a provided template: product/service, entrepreneurial team, market and competition, marketing and sales, and business model. In their pitch presentation, participants present their business idea in an effective and compelling way and also defend it as a team before a jury of experts. The presentation includes a demo of the prototype for the developed product or service. |
