| additional remarks | Platons Dialog Phaidros präsentiert uns ein Gespräch zwischen Sokrates und der Titelfigur Phaidros inmitten einer herrlichen landschaftlichen Szenerie außerhalb der Stadtmauern Athens. An drei in formaler wie inhaltlicher Hinsicht sehr unterschiedliche Reden über das Thema Liebe schließt sich eine Reflexion über die Bedingungen und die Form von gesprochenen wie geschriebenen Reden überhaupt an. Hierbei stellt sich angesichts der Wirkung der zeitgenössischen Rhetorik, die sich damals vor allem in der Volksversammlung und vor Gericht entfalten konnte, auch die Frage nach ihrem Verhältnis zur Philosophie und damit die Frage nach dem Selbstverständnis der Philosophie, anders gesagt die Frage: „Was ist Philosophie?“ Wenngleich das fiktive Gespräch des Dialogs Phaidros über 2400 Jahre in der Vergangenheit liegt, sind die in ihm berührten Themen von geradezu frappierender Aktualität, wenn man beispielsweise fake news, den scheinbaren Glanz von Hochglanzbroschüren oder die Informationsgesellschaft ins Auge fasst. |
