additional remarks | This lecture provides a broad and thorough introduction to strategy and organization. After an introduction to basic theories, the lecture will introduce how organizations can be evaluated on the basis of their resources and capabilities and how these create competitive advantages for organizations. Furthermore, we address organizational structure and design issues and discuss challenges for corporate governance and potential solutions to resulting problems. Finally, we examine organizations in interaction with their environment, especially with regard to inter-organizational strategies for competition and cooperation as well as issues of globalization. The lecture combines practical examples with current research. The focus lies on behavioral and empirical perspectives within organizational theory and research. |
