| additional remarks | In der "Apologie des Sokrates" stellt Platon die Verteidigungsrede dar, die Sokrates vor der Volksversammlung gehalten hat, nachdem er 399 v. Chr. wegen Verderben der Jugend und Einführung neuer Götter angeklagt worden war. Ausgehend von dieser Verteidigungsrede lässt sich eine Darstellung der Person des Sokrates aus der Sicht seines Schülers Platon geben. Dabei sollen insbesondere die sokratische Methode der Prüfung seiner Mitmenschen wie auch von sich selbst, das sokratische Wissen des Nichtwissens und die Ironie des Sokrates zur Sprache kommen. Mit Sokrates wird ein Paradigma eines Philosophen vorgestellt und so auch die Frage "Was ist Philosophie?" im Kern berührt. |
