additional remarks Unser aktuelles Leben in modernen Gesellschaften ist bestimmt von Wissenschaft und Technik. Bei allen lebensweltlichen Erfolgen, die durch die moderne Wissenschaft und Technik ermöglicht worden sind, stellen sich auch Fragen hinsichtlich sowohl potentieller ethischer Grenzen als auch ethischer „Gewinne“. Die philosophische Ethik versucht u.a. die normativ zulässigen Möglichkeiten, Gebote sowie Grenzen bzw. Verbote menschlichen Handelns zu bestimmen. Fragt die klassische Ethik etwa nach der Begründung für gebotenes bzw. zu unterlassendes Handeln von Personen, gesellschaftlich-politischen Institutionen oder ökonomischen Gruppen, so zielt die Frage nach der Verantwortung auch auf das Moment der Rechenschaft hinsichtlich der (zukünftigen) potentiellen Folgen und Nebenfolgen menschlicher Aktivitäten (u.a. intergenerationelle Verantwortung) ab.
