additional remarks | tl;dr: to dive deep into robotics, become a better engineer, and go places, apply at www.devanthro.com/join Ask anyone, and they'll agree: robots will be in our homes. But they'll also say: sometime in the future, not today. While everyone would love to have their house cleaned, clothes washed and breakfast prepared by a robot, no one thinks about how to get there. We do. And we want you to help us getting there. Autonomy is a wickedly hard problem. Which is why, we'll need a step in between. First come not robots, but robodies - remotely operated humanoid robotic systems. Since its foundation at TUM in 2015, the Roboy Student Team has been pushing the boundary of robotics. We've not only built a musculoskeletal robot by 2018, but made it drive a ricksha and then sell ice cream. In 2020, we built Roboy 3.0, and in 2021, we had students on the Maldives, more than 8000km away, operate it in Munich. We've also been to the most amazing fairs, in USA, China, Barcelona, Dubai, and all over Germany. And after being done with the lab course, many former Roboyans went on to places every engineer dreams of (FAANG, MIT, Oxford, DRL, but also e.g. Neuralink) - we have the connections to help you getting there. So while this lab course will take all of your time, your skill, your passion and your love. It is also immensely rewarding and likely you will never grow as much as you will during your time at Roboy Student Team - because we give you ownership, resources and direction. Beyond that we're organised in agile processes that are adapted for interdisciplinary product development. We have combined the best of scrum, design thinking, systems engineering and a jolt of lean startup. And this is also the only thing we teach, the rest requires your willingness to learn on your own and desire to create something amazing. Sounds great? We think it is. That's why we also expect a few things, because it's most fun, when everyone gives 150%. So head over to www.devanthro.com/join to see what it takes, our open topics and if you're made out for this. |
