additional remarks In this Masterpraktikum we will consider major public software modules for automomous mobile service robots, taking a close look at both their primary function and challenging edge cases. We will pick a number of represenative open source software modules for tasks such as path planning, perception, localization and tracking, and study them both in the context of simple and difficult, practical scenarios. The scenario selection will be aligned according to current challenges for science and industry. Finally students will consider the strengths and weaknesses of the approaches, and extend them to improve the successful scenario coverage. This Masterpraktikum is a good opportunity to get a feeling for related science and industry opporunities and to gain some hands-on implementation and testing experience based on some of the most used robotics frameworks.
