CONTENT: This lab-course is suitable for all students who want to experience industry-related software development first-hand. The goal of the lab-course is to create a publicly available web application with Python that allows the benchmarking of image data and processing algorithms relevant to hardware security at the microchip level. As in a real software development team, the students will be equipped with the required domain knowledge and will have the opportunity to exchange ideas with experts from the cooperation partners Infineon Technologies AG and Fraunhofer EMFT. Overall, this course offers you the following experiences: · Developing an application from scratch · Immersion in the stepd of software development · Weekly standup and work meetings · Holding a final presentation to share the project. PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE EXPECTED: · Experience in Python or a related language is required · Experience in web development (front-end and back-end) is beneficial · Experience in image processing with openCV, scikit-learn and Tensorflow is nice to have · Experience in software development and working in an agile team is a plus OBJECTIVE: Students can gain career-relevant experience in software development and practice agile project work. They can build extensive knowledge of web applications with Python in a real industrial use case. LANGUAGE: German and English TEACHING AND LEARNING METHOD: Participants exercise systematic software engineering for a small system in small teams with a precise task description with tight time constraints (design, implementation, test). Final results of the teamwork have to be presented. Design, project plans, and implementation have to be documented. SCHEDULED DATES: · Info meeting: Wednesday, February 3, 2021, 4:00pm – 5:00pm COURSE CRITERIA AND REGISTRATION: For registration you have to be identified in TUMonline as a student, it will take place via the matching system.
