additional remarks At the beginning the lecture outlines the various ropeway-systems, continuing with a detailed explanation of funicular railways, aerial ropeways (monocable / bicable ropeways), ski-tows and their important components. Furthermore discussed are the most important elements (driving-unit, brakes, ropes). The lecture is concluding with an introduction of the basics in ropeway calculations - rope statics, design calculations of ropes and drive unit.
