Courses are together with exams the building blocks for modules. Please keep in mind that information on the contents, learning outcomes and, especially examination conditions are given on the module level only – see section "Assignment to Modules" above.
|In this course, students gain basic knowledge of Italian as a foreign language, enabling them with minimal language skills to successfully manage basic everyday situations, for example in a restaurant, in public transportation, during introductions, etc. Additionally, opportunities will be made available to effectively organize the process of learning Italian as a foreign language. Students learn/practice "communicative functions": to pose questions to others about themselves and their families and to answer similar questions; to understand and use numbers and prices; fundamental vocabulary concerning studying, careers, an average day, food and eating habits; and talking about their day-to-day activities in the present tense using simple sentences. Grammar: nouns (Genus and Numerus), articles, adjectives and declinations; indicative present of regular and irregular verbs; modal verbs; question pronouns; simple and double negatives; prepositions without articles; adverbs of time; basic numbers. Phonetics and orthography: alphabet; sound and writing; accent and pronunciation; intonation: statements, questions and exclamations.
