Further Information

additional remarks During the course you will be put into the situation of a start-up with the aim to develop innovative, intelligent applications and services for the tourism industry. You will be challenged to develop your own services based on your own ideas, create a functioning business model and to implement it by means of a software prototype. The implementation takes place in the context of a cloud platform ecosystem and requires the use of modern web technologies as well as basic knowledge of paradigms of data-driven applications. Creativity is required to find new added value potentials for different participants of the tourism ecosystem. In particular, the identification of potentials for the development of data-driven business models plays an important role. The project will be worked on in a step by step manner during the course of the semester: - Finding a business idea in the context of tourism (B2B or B2C) & development/validation of a business model using common methods (business model canvas and market analysis) - Applying Design Thinking to foster the ideation process and to arrive at business idea - Prototypical implementation of the designed application using modern backend technologies (e.g. NodeJS, Spring Boot, Python, RabbitMQ, NoSQL-DBs.), frontend technologies (Vue, React, etc.) and container technologies (Docker)
