Further Information
Courses are together with exams the building blocks for modules. Please keep in mind that information on the contents, learning outcomes and, especially examination conditions are given on the module level only – see section "Assignment to Modules" above.
additional remarks | In this lecture we will address the use of genetically modified microbes, plants and animals for the production of proteins and low molecular weight substances. We will explain the basics of laboratory methods necessary for genetic modifications to achieve high level expression of foreign genes. The basics of fermentation and protein purification will be shown as well as immunological tests. Methods of genetical modifications of higher animals and plants as well as their metabolic engeneering will be an issue. |
