additional remarks | Information regarding the current course (2017/2018) can be accessed via the following link: http://go.tum.de/498339 In this overlapping semester course, innovative prototypes, in form of products, services or processes, are commonly developed in interdisciplinary teams with partners such as Stanford University, the Hasso Plattner Institute and other industry partners. These business partners provide current problem statements and allocate budget. During the event "Design Thinking for Business Innovation", students are taught techniques by the "Design Thinking" concept for an agile and creative problem solving, which takes place directly in the development of an innovative prototype application. The "Design Thinking for Business Innovation" event provides practical relevance. In addition to cooperation with the Hasso Plattner Institute, other business partners are involved in, on the one hand, to demonstrate the problem adjusting and, on the other hand, are available for case studies for example. Further, the business partners will provide a significant budget for prototype development, which the students themselves are responsible for. The event "Design Thinking for Business Innovation" provides an agile and creative service concept. The learning-by-doing approach encourages in particular the agile capabilities of students to be able to make the right decisions situational. Through individual attention from science and practice, a multi-perspective approach is provided that stimulates the creativity of the students. The event "Design Thinking for Business Innovation" offers an interdisciplinary and international platform. Selected students from different disciplines (information systems, business studies, computer science, mechanical engineering, CDTM) provide the basis for the interdisciplinary approach of the seminar. Through cooperating in the prestigious SUGAR Network (www.sugar-network.org), there is also the possibility to work together with teams from Stanford University or University of St. Gallen.
