Further Information

Courses are together with exams the building blocks for modules. Please keep in mind that information on the contents, learning outcomes and, especially examination conditions are given on the module level only – see section "Assignment to Modules" above.

additional remarks The seminar will deal with numerical methods, in particular with Finite Volume and Discontinuous Galerkin methods, required for the simulation of tsunamis: - Hyperbolic conservation laws and propagation of tsunamis - Fundamentals of the Finite Volume (FV) method (fluxes, Riemann problems) - Fundamentals of the Discontinuous Galerkin (DG) method - Applications of FV and DG methods to wave propagation - Challenges for the simulation of realistic problem settings
