Learning Outcome
At the end of the module students are able to independently study scientific literature in a CSE related topic. They can apply the principles of scientific work and are able to take part in a scientific discussion. The participants are able to analyze their topic and understand its broader context. The participants can structure their topic for a presentation and prepare a presentation of it. In the presentation they are able to explain their topic in an understandable way using the available media. The participants can also summarize their topic in a written way.

Learning and Teaching Methods
After an introduction to the overall topic the students start to study literature of a challenging scientific topic. The participants get familiar with their topic and prepare a presentation of it. If needed, they can get advice by the supervisors. Through the presentations of the other students they get a broader view of the topic. Students have also to write a short term paper to summarize their topic.
Media
Slides, whiteboard
Literature
Will be announced by supervisor before the course starts.
Module Exam
Description of exams and course work
Type of Assessment: Presentation of 30 to 45 minutes with an additional discussion with the audience of up to 15 minutes.
The presentation examines the student´s ability in presenting, structuring and explaining the given topic. Questions from the supervisors and the audience examine the student´s ability to analyze his or her topic in detail and to understand the overall context. The discussion also examines the ability to participate in a scientific discussion. The submitted short term paper examines on the one hand the skills in analyzing the topic itself, on the other hand the ability to recapitulate the topic.
