Die Frage nach der φύσις, also dem, was wir als Natur bezeichnen, steht am Beginn der Philosophie. Die ersten Philosophen sind Naturphilosophen. Bei ihnen werden die Fragen nach der Struktur des Weltalls, nach der Bewegung von Körpern und nach den zugrundeliegenden Prinzipien aufgeworfen, welche die Entwicklung selbst der modernen Naturwissenschaften aus dem Hintergrund mitbestimmen. Im Seminar soll ein Überblick über die Positionen verschiedener Philosophen und Naturforscher gewonnen werden, welche die Naturphilosophie wesentlich geprägt haben. Dabei soll der Bogen geschlagen werden von den Vorsokratikern über Platon und Aristoteles, die Spätscholastik (u. a. vertreten durch Johannes Buridan), Giordano Bruno, Johannes Kepler, Isaac Newton, Gottfried Wilhelm Leibniz, Friedrich Wilhelm Joseph Schelling, Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel bis hin zu Albert Einstein und zur Kopenhagener Schule. In jeder Seminarsitzung soll eine naturphilosophische Position von einer Studentin oder einem Studenten mittels Referat vorgestellt werden. Als Grundlage dient dabei jeweils ein Text aus [1]. Im gemeinsamen Gespräch sollen die jeweilige Position vertieft und Bezüge der Positionen untereinander hergestellt werden. |
