| additional remarks | Chemie ist unbeliebtes Schulfach und zugleich allgegenwärtig: Von Plastik und Stahlturbinen bis hin zu Pflanzenschutzmitteln und Medikamenten - eine Wissenschaft, die nah an der Schnittstelle zur Anwendung liegt und in der Vergangenheit besonders konfliktträchtig war. In den vergangenen Jahrzehnten hat es immer wieder Versuche gegeben, die Kluft zwischen Ansehen und Allgegenwart der Chemie zu überbrücken. Wie wurden und werden öffentliche Konflikte um chemische Produkte und Verfahren ausgetragen? Inwieweit und wieso klaffen Selbst- und Fremdbild der Chemie auseinander? Was bedeutet „grüne Chemie“ für die öffentliche Wahrnehmung? Löst sich „Chemie“ in „Nano“ und „Bio“ auf? Wo liegen aktuelle Kontroversen? Konkrete Kontroversen und Kommunikationsaktivitäten aus Vergangenheit und Gegenwart sowie Analyseansätze werden diskutiert, ergänzt durch Beiträge externer Referenten. |
