Further Information
Courses are together with exams the building blocks for modules. Please keep in mind that information on the contents, learning outcomes and, especially examination conditions are given on the module level only – see section "Assignment to Modules" above.
additional remarks | In the course of the lecture the basics of the interaction of electromagnetic radiation with matter will be worked out, especially the time-dependent perturbation theory will be derived and important terms of spectroscopy will be introduced, e.g. the transition dipole moment, resonant transitions, Raman scattering or term symbols. These fundamentals are used to discuss rotational, vibrational and electronic spectroscopy, as well as nuclear spin and electron spin resonance. One focus is the interpretation of experimental spectroscopic investigations. |
