The focus is on rechargeable systems as used in mobile devices, electric vehicles, and photovoltaic island systems. - Introduction, terminology, definitions - Introduction into electrochemistry - Thermodynamic fundamentals (equilibrium state) - Kinetics and overvoltages (voltage under current flow) - The electrochemical double layer - Diffusion processes and upstream/downstream reactions - Cell design (different construction principles) - Optimization of batteries for different requirements - Lead-acid batteries, - Alkaline systems, - Li-ion systems and future Li systems - Sodium-ion and solid-state systems |
