Further Information
Courses are together with exams the building blocks for modules. Please keep in mind that information on the contents, learning outcomes and, especially examination conditions are given on the module level only – see section "Assignment to Modules" above.
additional remarks | In this module, the students learn about several Models to simulate nano-structured semiconductor devices (e.g., drift-diffusion and Monte Carlo methods). The students will learn the basic concepts of simulations and computer experiments. This includes setting up an abstract simulation model, executing simulations, analyzing simulation results, as well as the visualization and interpretation of simulation results. The students will investigate several devices (e.g., diodes, transistors, solar cells, ...) in four projects and test the impact of design parameters (e.g., materials, dimensions, doping, ...) on device performance. |
