additional remarks The lecture "Plastics and plastics technology" teaches the basics of the material class of plastics and its processing methods. The following topics, among others, are covered: • Structural design of plastics • Chemical, physical and rheological properties and their effects on processability • Plastic processing methods (extrusion, injection moulding, compounding and additive manufacturing) and selected special processes • Areas of application of the various plastics • Plastic-compatible construction, moulded part design and toolmaking • Different test methods for plastics analysis • Recycling of plastics • Examples of the application of plastics technology in current research projects at the Chair of Medical Materials and Implants.
