| additional remarks | In this course, students gain knowledge of German as a foreign language, enabling them to communicate verbally and in writing using a wide and varied vocabulary and complex grammatical structures. The thematic focus of the seminar is the metropole, Munich. Students will critically examine selected aspects of the city such as its history, economic development, social and cultural life, architecture and leisure culture. They gain insights into historical and cultural contexts, enabling them to develop a differentiated picture of the city in which they are studying and, often, only live on a temporary basis. Students engage the topic not only on the basis of texts, audio and film materials, presentations and exercises within the classroom but also through "talking tours" of the city and its museums. |
