additional remarks In this course, students gain basic knowledge of Italian as a foreign language, enabling them to successfully manage basic everyday situations. Student will learn strategies for communicating verbally and in writing despite limited language skills in the foreign language. Students learn/practice "communicative functions": to talk about personal experiences in past tense (simple past); to talk about situations/people and everyday activities in past tense (simple past and present perfect); to describe people; to make comparisons; to ask for advice, to give advice/directions to others; to express their wants/needs; to make hypotheses; to talk about future plans; to aks for and make suggestions; to ask for and provide information about past events; to give reasons for a decision; to use basic vocabulary on topics such as clothing and shopping habits, education and professional life. GRAMMAR: Passato prossimo regular and irregular verbs; Passato prossimo modal and reflexive verbs; Imperfetto; use of Passato prossimo and Imperfetto; conjuctions mentre and quando; Possessiva with relational terms (family/relatives); comparative and superlative; conditional; imperative; pronouns in combination with imperative; indicative future I; irregular plural constructions of Substantiva; relative pronouns chi, che, cui; Passato prossimo with object pronouns.
