Further Information

Courses are together with exams the building blocks for modules. Please keep in mind that information on the contents, learning outcomes and, especially examination conditions are given on the module level only – see section "Assignment to Modules" above.

additional remarks The lecture Battery Systems provides basic knowledge of various energy storage technologies. Electrochemical contents are presented in a general manner and across technologies. In particular, present energy storage technologies such as lead-acid batteries or lithium-ion batteries are presented with their characteristics, function and design. The topics are presented in the context of current questions and challenges within applications in the field of electromobility and stationary energy storage systems. Topics: - Faraday's law - Thermodynamics - Butler-Volmer equation - Nernst equation - Lead-acid batteries - Lithium-ion batteries (Technology, design, safety) The institute for electrical energy storage technology offers an excursion as part of the lecture.
