In this module, students gain basic knowledge of the Dutch language, enabling them to successfully manage such basic everyday situations. The course takes into consideration intercultural and cultural aspects. Students learn/practice the following skills: to pose and respond to simple questions concerning themselves/their families; numbers; pricing and telling time; to give descriptions of places and people; they will be able to use basic vocabulary regarding family, career, leisure time to talk about their day-to-day activities in the present tense using simple sentence structures. Students learn strategies for successful communication in basic everyday situations with minimal language skills. Opportunities will be made available to more effectively learn Dutch as a foreign language and to improve self-study skills. Requisite grammatical topics will be covered in the course. |
