additional remarks In this module, students will be introduced to the history and culture of Spanish-speaking countries in Latin America and Spain. Cultural topics covered in the course will be chosen by students in the first class. Potential topics might include the Spanish Civil War and Picasso's Guernica; Chile under the dictatorship of Pinochet and the works of Isabel Allende; or the economic crisis in Argentina (Film: El hijo de la novia). Students must prepare a lecture on one of these topics or a similar topic.
