| additional remarks | The following areas of thermodynamics will be treated: Combustion: basic chemical equations, change of volume, oxygen/air requirement, amount/composition of products, 1st law analysis of reacting systems, higher and lower heating value, adiabatic flame temperature Humid Air (Gas-Vapor-Mixtures): principles and definitions, enthalpy of atmospheric air, psychrometric chart, processes (mixing, heating/cooling, dehumidification, humidification), evaporative cooling (wet bulb temperature) Gas Dynamics: conservation laws, velocity of sound, processes (frictionless duct flow, adiabatic duct flow, isentropic flow, normal shocks), Rayleigh and Fanno line, flow through nozzles (converging nozzle, converging-diverging nozzle) |
