additional remarks The module presents the fundamental physical concepts and mathematical models used in Nuclear Engineering. The objective is to provide the necessary information and make use of it in the solution of practical exercises to be able to understand and confidently apply • The fundamentals of Nuclear Power Reactor Technology. • The physics of nuclear reactions and radioactive decay. • Fundamental concepts of nuclear reactor design and safety analysis: safety margins and limits. • Fundamental concepts of reactor dynamics. • The fundamental mathematical and physical models used to describe the neutronic behavior of nuclear reactors: neutron diffusion theory. • The fundamental models utilized to design and analyze the thermal-hydraulic behavior of nuclear reactors: single- and two-phase flow. All this is complemented by practical exercises that help to consolidate the theoretical concepts explained in the lectures.
