| additional remarks | In this module, students gain basic knowledge of German as a foreign language, enabling them to successfully manage such basic everyday situations as travel, at the doctor's office, finding an apartment, in a department store, talking with colleagues, friends and neighbors. Students will learn strategies for effective verbal and written communication despite minimal language skills. Opportunities will be made available for effective, self-motivated, independent learning and to improve self-study skills. They review and supplement fundamental vocabulary/expressions concerning education, career, health, leisure time and travel. They learn to classify and use a broader range of main and subordinate clauses; to report using the preterite, perfect and pluperfect; and review and expand the use of prepositions and adjectival declination. |
