additional remarks At first, conversion concepts for solar radiation to heat are introduced and compared. It is focused on collector systems such as Parabolic Trough and Fresnel systems. Based on this conventional and innovative cycle designs for the production of power from solar heat are introduced (ORC, Rankine cycle and its direct evaporation). A continuous and safe power supply is necessary for all kind of energy conversion systems. Especially solar radiation is only available during daytime. The inclusion of heat and power storage into solar power plants is additionally part of this lecture. Economic aspects are discussed based on the lessons learned before. Besides the exisiting technology, future projects and strategies are discussed with respect to the Desertec concept.
