Open Quantum System, Linblad equation and decoherence in Quantum Mechanics
We will study a two levels atomic system in an external electromagnetic field using open quantum system and obtaining a master equation of the Linblad type. We will solve the equation and compare to the results of time dependent perturbation theory. We will use these results to study Lindblad Decoherence in Atomic Clocks (Steve Weinberg Phys. Rev. A 94, 042117 (2016). Such results can be generalized to considering in the same framework a chromoelectric dipole interaction between quarkonium color octet and singlet states in QCD, the theory of strong interaction and can describe the nonequilibrium evolution of quarkonium in heavy ion collsions at experiments at the Large Hadron Collider at CERN.
