The lecture Organization provides a broad and thorough introduction to strategy and organization, two major issues in management. After an introduction to basic theories, the lecture introduces how organizations can be evaluated on the basis of their resources and capabilities and how these create competitive advantages for organizations. Furthermore, organizational structure and design issues are adressed and challenges for corporate governance and potential solutions to resulting problems are discussed. Finally, in the lecture, organizations in interaction with their environment are examined, especially with regard to inter-organizational strategies for competition and cooperation as well as issues of globalization.
