- Basic research methods in organizational psychology - Basic attributes of organizations - ethics and morals in organizational behavior - individual attributes of managers and employees - content and process theories of motivation - structures and processes of work teams - the impact of organizational culture - organizational change and development - managerial decision making - basics of professional communication, conflict management, and negotiation

Learning Outcome

At the end of the module students are able to describe, interpret, and explain the following concepts of organizational behavior: - normative values and ethics in organizations - effects of individual attributes of managers and employees - motivation and empowerment of the workforce - structures and processes of work teams - basic attributes of organizations - organizational culture - organizational change and development - managerial decision making - communication, conflict and negotiation Finally, students are able to understand and discuss the provided concepts and to transfer these concepts to their specific work environments.

Module Exam

Description of exams and course work

The examination consists of a 60 min written examination. It assesses the students' abilities to recall, interpret, and transfer the contents of the course to various settings. For this purpose, the questions are designed as single choice items. They can take on the form of - simple knowledge questions, which aim at recall of the learned concepts - decision items, which aim at classifying or interpreting the course contents - scenarios, which aim at transferring the learned concepts to real-life settings The final grade is determined by the performance in the written examination.

Exam Repetition

There is a possibility to take the exam in the following semester.
