Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions


Students expand their basic knowledge of Russian as a foreign language with a general language orientation while taking into consideration intercultural and cultural aspects. They practice: expressing their ideas on familiar topics in simple and cohesive sentences; to begin and sustain simple conversations in everyday communicative situations. The course will cover grammatical topics and vocabulary requisite for this level of mastery, such as: comparisons between past and present, sentence construction; expressing and explaining likes and dislikes. Students learn how to glean expected information from simple everyday texts. Opportunities will be made available for effective, self-motivated, independent learning.

Learning Outcome

The module refers to level A1 of the CEFR. After completion of this module, students will be able to use a sentences and practices grammatical structures to report about things concerning their immediate situation and environment. They will be able to write simple notes and personal letters concerning immediate wants and needs; They can understand, analyze and appropriately respond to simple, clear reports. They can read and understand simple texts using common, basic vocabulary and familiar structures and concerning familiar topics.
