This course includes note-taking in lectures, practising tutorial participation, academic writing and presenting a topic on a related field of study.

Learning Outcome

On completion of this module students will have gained some of the study skills required for participating in an English-speaking academic environment. Students are able to produce some academic level work in degree courses held in English.

Description of exams and course work

Class Participation (including Written Homework Assignments, In-Class Writing) 25%; Brief Presentation and/or Writing Assignment (to be revised) 25%; Final Written Examination 50%. Regular attendance and active participation in class are required.
