Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions

- Raising Awareness for intra- and intercultural situations in the German university context,
- Knowledge transfer on the intercultural background, reflection of daily life situations by case study work,

Learning Outcome
After participation, students will be able to reflect on both their own and other cultural standards, recognize the dangers of stereotyping in an intercultural context, and thus deal more competently with cultural differences and potential conflict situations. The students can act competently in intercultural situations and advance the acquired soft skills practically and vividly. International students can more easily integrate themselves into the university, society and the professional environment. Furthermore, they have developed strategies to successfully work together in a study context.

Working with case studies, simulations, and group work, theories presented in short lectures are practically taught and practiced.

Module Exam
Description of exams and course work
Besides active participation in the workshop, students are required to produce a study journal of 2-5 pages. In this journal students document what they have learned and consciously work through their own perspectives on cultural differences and conflicts. They should show that they are able to critically question and describe their own cultural point of view.
Exam Repetition
There is a possibility to take the exam in the following semester.
