Description of exams and course work
The content of the report is based on attendance at least 8 lectures in the MSE's "World of Engineering" series or selected series of lectures in other faculties. Recognized series of lectures are published in a summary, updated each semester, on the study program's website: http://www.mse.tum.de/en/students/engineering-science/program-structure/. In the report, participants link theoretical study contents with engineering practice and are required to include their own practice-based experiences and reflections on the various areas of activity. Based on the theoretical knowledge acquired during their studies, students are required to discuss and evaluate selected contents of the lectures. It can thus be examined whether the students are in a position to establish a link between the course and teaching contents and engineering practice. Through their own reflection and evaluation, the students show that they can also apply this knowledge to future study and career planning.
Alternatively, a report can be written about an industry internship (minimum 8 weeks) involving engineering-related tasks. The report must include a presentation of the company's product and organization and a description of the activity.
Precise details about the contents, form and structure of the report and on the requirements for the industry internship can be found in the "Leitfaden zum Vortragsessay oder Praktikumsbericht im Modul Welt der Ingenieurwissenschaften" (Guidelines on the lecture essay or internship report in the module World of Engineering Science):
