After successful completion of the module the students are able to:
- To understand the approach of physics to solve or investigate problems
- Identify underlying physical principles in topics relevant for society
- Estimate the relevance of physics in processes, and how they are relevant
- Estimate the quality of measurement data, statistics and risks at the level of plauusibility
- Understand the basic laws of nature at an overview level
- Explain particularly prominet topics from the view of physics

Learning and Teaching Methods
In the thematically structured lecture the learning content is presented. With cross references between different topics the universal concepts in physics are shown. In scientific discussions the students are involved to stimulate their analytic-physics intellectual power.

Description of exams and course work
There will be a written exam of 30 minutes duration. Therein the achievement of the competencies given in section learning outcome is tested exemplarily at least to the given cognition level using Comprehension questions and estimations.
For example an assignment in the exam might be: Estimate the heating of the atmosphere due to the heat from the core of the earth
In the exam the following learning aids are permitted:
- hand-written sheet with formulas, double-sided
- every possible material
The exam may be repeated at the end of the semester.
