Content

Molecular and chemical basis of biological processes (proteins, carbohydrates, lipids); basics of physical chemistry; obtaining biochemical compounds in the laboratory (protein purification, protein analytics, protein synthesis with molecular biology methods); bioenergetics; selected topics in molecular cell biology

Learning Outcome

Knowledge of biochemical composition of living organisms and the nature of its components; ability to grasp quantitative connections of growth an maintainance of living cells; knowledge of essential laboratory methods; preview on timely research problems

Module Exam

Description of exams and course work

In an oral exam the learning outcome is tested using comprehension questions and sample problems.

In accordance with §12 (8) APSO the exam can be done as a written test. In this case the time duration is 60 minutes.

Exam Repetition

The exam may be repeated at the end of the semester. There is a possibility to take the exam in the following semester.
