Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions

Content

Seminar talks by students on current topics in the field of research, mainly considering solid state physics, neutron scattering and neutron instrumentation.

Learning Outcome

After successful participation in the module the student can

1.) use the basic methods of literature retrieval

2.) condense their knowledge from scientific papers into a presentation

3.) obtain presentation skills

4.) has learned details about different methods and experiments in neutron scattering

Student is familiar with solid state physics

Description of exams and course work

In the course of the seminar each student individually prepares a talk on a topic of current research. Based on this talk the learning outcome is tested.
