Responsible coordinator of the module PH1347 is Alexander Holleitner.

Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions

Content

This module is the accompanying seminar to the lecture ´nanosystems I´. It gives an overview over the optical and electronic properties of nanoscale circuits and systems, as well as the nanolithography and –fabrication methods. A special emphasis is put on topical nanoscale material systems, such as graphene, topological insulators, nanoparticles, single molecules and proteins, carbon nanotubes, and nanoscale semiconductor circuits.

Learning Outcome

After successful participation in the module the student can use the basic methods of literature retrieval, condense their knowlegde from scientific papers into a presentation and obtain presentation skills. They have learned about relevant topics of research in the field of nano scale science.

Preconditions

There are no access requirements beyond the ones for the master study.
