Content, Learning Outcome and Preconditions

Content

This seminar accompanies the lecture on Renewable Energy and will provide particularly interested students with the opportunity to give an own presentation on a special topic of particular relevance. A list of potential topics includes energy distribution and smart power grids, technical realization of high volume energy storage, physics of the sun, nanostructures for efficient energy conversion, etc.

Learning Outcome

By successful participation in the module the students can

  • use and critically evaluate the basic methods of web-based literature and information retrieval
  • condense primary knowlegde from scientific papers into a presentation and optimize their own presentation skills
  • aquire additional in-depth knowledge about imprtant topics in the field of renewable energies.

Preparing and presenting a 30-45 min scientific talk, beamer presentation, discussion with advisor and audience,  individual literature studies and evaluations

Specialized literature to the individual topics of the seminar talks will be provided, complemented by an active own literature search of the students.

Module Exam

Description of exams and course work

In the course of the seminar each student individually prepares a talk on a topic of current research. Based on this talk the learning outcome is tested.

Exam Repetition

There is a possibility to take the exam in the following semester.
